Dacorum & District Mental Health Support Group for Carers

At our January meeting we discussed some idea's to improve our group, one of these was forward planning.  As a result we have compiled a list of dates and events we hope to keep to throughout 2012.  Our next meeting is on Thursday 2nd February at 139 Leighton Buzzard Road, Hemel Hempstead for a 7.45 p.m. start.  Our Guest speaker is from Stevanage and we will discuss a new approach call "Host Families" a new Herts initiative which has just completed some trials; then hopefully we will talk about other new ideas which help form "as one"

Opportunities - Support Assistant WorkShop in Mind Watford

Based in Watford, Self-Employed Basis, Flexible Hours, Hourly Rate negotiable.

We have an exciting opportunity to recruit Support Assistants in the Watford Borough locality, supporting individuals within the community, to maintain well-being, independence and social inclusion.

You will need to be able to deliver specific services and tasks identified by Service Users from a range a client groups, working on a self-employed basis, with support, and will have had a lived experience of mental health issues.

An approved enhanced CRB check is required for this post.

Successful applicants must be able to commit to attending an in-house training course.

Carers Support Group - Dacorum

If you support a family member or friend with physical, emotional, behavioural, learning or age related difficulties it can effect your well-being. Our self supporting carers group will enable you to have time for yourself, meet other carers and share your experiences. 

The group will begin on a weekly basis from Monday 7th November 10.30 - 12.00 at the Centre for Well-Being, 139 Leighton Buzzard Road, Hemel Hempstead, Herts. HP1 1HN.  There is no charge for the group but if you have refreshments we ask that you contribute 50p per session towards these.

Jewellery Making - South Oxhey

Pottery Course in Watford

A new Pottery course in Watford at The Centre for Well Being, 501 St Albans Road, Watford, Herts.  WD24 7RZ.  The course takes place on Tuesdays from 10.00 - 12.00 noon.  This course is a chance to develop your creative skills with clay and kiln firing and the items that you make, you take home with you.  The cost for this course is £10.00 per person and bags of clay cost £2.50 each.

Herts Mind Network Membership Renewals

If you are currently an annual member of Herts Mind Network, your membership will be due for renewal on October 1st 2011.  Your membership enables you to: Receive informaton about the Herts Mind Network AGM, Vote at the Herts Mind Network AGM, Apply to be a Trustee for Herts Mind Network and receive Herts Mind Network newsletters.  There are different options for memberships, such as Annual or Life membership, please ask a member of staff if you want any more information.  Annual membership £5.00 and Life Membership £50.00.

Open Door Service - SE Herts

We will be opening our doors for two days and one evening a week starting from Tuesday 3rd May 2011. This means that if you currently attend groups with us you can come and use our facilities throughout the day. Make yourself a drink, use the internet, listen to the radio, play games or just relax. The venue will be supported by volunteers throughout the day.

To launch our new Open Door Service we shall be holding a celebratory afternoon tea on Tuesday 3rd May 2011 14:00 - 16:00. Refreshments and cake will be available.
